We have camped here a few times over the years and it just keeps improving year on year, now they own the hall as well as the campsite. The food is brilliant and the service is fantastic. We had Christmas lunch this year and it was amazing ...cant reccomend this place highly enough
Had a breakfast stack meanwhile the wife had Belgium waffles. Staff beautiful service, pleasant environment and the food was some of the best we have eaten. Would whole heartily recommend. Stayed on the caravan park in our tourer so accommodation was first class also🤣
The grosvenor restaurant on site is superb but unfortunately the shower and toilet block were not up to standard. The tiles on the floor inside the showers are broken and uneven and the showers spray everywhere soaking anything you have hanging up :( the location is great for alton towers / churnet valley railway etc. For the standard of the site think £30 is a bit steep.
Stayed recently in one of the pods for a birthday with friends and it was brilliant. The dining table converted into a bed. If I went again I would take a fan as it was warm at night. The toilets are very clean and are extremely close to the pods. We booked a meal at the restaurant and it was absolutely beautiful !
I love this place used to go regularly unfortunately when you do the way you are treated by staff diminishes. My brother was also there he was the one who introduced us to the place his experience was the same he said he had stopped going for the same reason. So the best advice if you are holidaying you will be treated fine but don't ever think about becoming a regular visitor they don't want you
Absolutely loved the place, ideal location, glamming pods were excellent and great size, nice area for kids, felt and was very secure, icing on the cake was the exceptional food at the onsite restaurant. The best mixed grill I have ever had, quality was superb and cooked to perfection. Location is great for a trip to Alton towers but also many zoos and wildlife parks in the area. Visited the Peak Wildlife park which the little one loved
The site is well kept with friendly helpful staff. The showers and toilet block are dated but kept clean and with plenty of hot water. It is well located for Alton Towers.
We actually went to the Grosvenor Restaurant for a meal but we had to drive through the caravan park.
It was a beautiful day and the views stunning. In an ideal location for visiting both Alton Towers and the Peak District. The site is well laid out and very well maintained.
It seems to cater for visiting mobiles whilst there are statics and pods to hire.
The Grosvenor Restaurant is just through the park. It's extremely well maintained whilst keeping the atmosphere of an old stately home.
Service was excellent and the food more than ample, with reasonable prices.
My wife found the veg undercooked for her, whilst the Ploughman's Lunch I had was a little too much for me, buts that's not a bad point. You certainly get your monies worth.
All in all an excellent venue.
One point I missed is I'm disabled.
Unfortunately The Grosvenor Restaurant car park is little challenging if like me you're a little iffy on your legs. The front entrance has a flight of stone steps with no handrails. The best entrance is round the rear of the building., which requires one to engage a relatively steep slope on the car park. Once around the back all is fine. Unfortunately if its a first time there are no obvious sign directing the disabled person.
Incidentally it's worth noting there is no marke disabled parking on the black ash car park.
